With the rapid development of economy, the communication around the world becomes closer, and a wave of Chinese learning rise in many countries especially Thailand. A large number of Chinese language schools were built and the number of students increased in Thailand each year. At present, the demand of teachers of foreign language teaching exceeds supply in Thailand. Although Chinese language developed fast in Thailand, a lot of problems were found in teaching processing. For example, lack of teaching resource, the complexity of major background of teachers and no form standard of Chinese language materials, all of these issues restrict improvement of Chinese learning and also lead to the difficulty of learning Chinese characters.Chinese character is an indispensable part of Chinese-teaching and that is difficult to learn, so it is essential to do the research on Chinese character teaching. Chinese character belongs to Ideographic writing system, which has a big difference with Thai in grammar, accent and writing. After thousand years of revolution, these characters have become box symbols which can be read through their forms. As a beginner, they know little about traditional Chinese culture, so it is common that they have a misunderstanding of the words form and meaning, which contribute to the learning and memory difficulties on Chinese character learning. Facing these problems, we need to find some way out to help these Thailand students to learning Chinese character easier. This paper takes Loei middle school as research project, the teaching situation was analysed and the studying problems in teaching processing are found. At last, constructive advices were proposed to improve education quality.Chinese character teaching situation in Thailand can be known more through this research, which provides reference for teachers of Chinese character teaching and the beginners. |
