Stereotype is a single, common, fixed perceptions and attitudes toward some cognitive groups which are simply classified and the individuals within in social cognitive process. In this study, we used parent-absent children as the research object and we measured stereotype of parent-absent children with implicit and explicit of stereotype as the research method so that we could clear the content of stereotype of parent-absent children.Besides, we researched and measured the stereotype of parent-absent children from two groups of parent-absent children and social public. Objective:we measured the implicit and explicit of stereotype of parent-absent children and made comparisons between explicit stereotypes and implicit stereotypes of parent-absent children.Research methods:This study combined free association test, K-B characteristics measurement and Gardner stereotype strength measurement to measure 612 subjects’ explicit stereotypes; and used SC-IAT test to measure 80 subjects’ implicit stereotypes. We obtained the stereotype of parent-absent children through explicit stereotypes and implicit stereotypes. The results are as follows:(1) In the aspect of explicit stereotype, parent-absent children showed stronger stereotype of parent-absent children comparing with social public; but in the aspect of the implicit stereotype, parent-absent children showed a positive stereotype toward parent-absent children, while social public showed a negative stereotype. Parent-absent children recognition 6 material vocabulary were parent-absent children stereotype words, the words score more than median 3 and has significantly difference, p<0.01; social public recognition 13 material vocabulary were parent-absent children stereotype words, the words score more than median 3 and has significantly difference, p<0.01. Parent-absent children’ score in the positive dimension of the stereotype (t=3.07, p<0.01) was significantly higher than that of social public; while in the negative dimension (t=5.26, p<0.01) and overall score (t=4.85, p<0.01), social public score were significantly higher than that of Parent-absent children. In the implicit stereotype SC-IAT test of two groups, the D value of parent-absent children average score is 0.31; social public average D value is-0.06; after t test we found that parent-absent children D value significantly higher than that of social public average.(2) There was a significant correlation in implicit and explicit stereotype. In parent-absent children group, there was a significant negative correlation in implicit and explicit stereotype. So was in the social public group.
