A Study On The Role Of Government In The Protection Of Yi People 's Folk Culture

Culture is the foundation to one nation. As our country possesses a number of nations, the various kinds of culture in nations make up Chinese traditional civilization, while the civilization in Yi ethnic group is one of the most important parts in Chinese culture. The folk custom culture in Yi ethnic group contains unique artistic charm and grate value in culture and in economy, so this kind of culture has gradually formed the locally traditional civilization and customs which are full of national characteristics. These civilization and customs have played an-important role in our country’s development on economy and culture, and governments at all levels are supposed to protect and think highly of them seriously. However, with the development of society and big changes in our times, a large amount of folk customs in Yi ethnic group has gradually disappeared. Although more protection has been made by governments at all levels, there are still a lot of problems and insufficiencies in citizens’attention, in the amount of investment, and in cultivation on inheritors of the folk culture. All of these problems will lead to not only the obstacles in discovering the entire ancient folk custom culture, but also the dangers in losing our traditional civilization. Thus, it is a deadly important task to the governments at all levels, in the aspect of culture construction, that how to develop and protect folk custom culture in Yi ethnic group appropriately. In this paper, I will take the Yi ethnic group in Lijiang,Yunnan as an example, and I will reveal the relationship between the protection in folk custom culture and government effects by analyzing the concepts, features, and functions in folk custom culture of Yi ethnic group. Furthermore, I will analyze the current situation in culture protection in the area where Yi ethnic group has gathered, and figure out the problems and the different causes related to the culture protection. Eventually, I will offer the specific methods which can help our government to protect the folk custom culture in Yi ethnic group. I hope this paper can provide constructing effects on protection of folk custom culture of Yi ethnic group, and also can help our country to be a strongly socialistic country, then, to succeed in Chinese dream which is a grate rejuvenation dream.
