John Ruskin(1819-1900) was Victorian era’s most influential art critic. Ruskin thought artists were the creators of the beauty and also the guardian of morality, the meaning of existence and value of art lies in its performance, communicate and arouse people’s moral feelings. Through the Ruskin Art View research, combined with its art criticism practice cases, respectively, from Ruskin artist training requirements, the interpretation of the requirements of works of art and works of art theme of these three aspects are described and analysis, in order to highlight the moral in Ruskin’s art criticism is always important criterion is a measure of artists and works of art. Therefore further reflection Ruskin Art Criticism and influence what inspired the missing Chinese contemporary art criticism ethical standards.
