“Datang Xinyu” is a note novel which is written by Liu Su who was in early Tang Dynasty. This novel mainly recorded poetry responsorial and funny anecdotes of the poet in Tang Dynasty. Tang was an area of prosperity in policy, economy, and culture. At the same time, polyphony of Chinese vocabulary of which the linked polysyllabic word is an important form also expanded extremely in Han. This paper research the linked polysyllabic words which are in Datang Xinyu from linguistic.The main contents are as follows:The first part, introduction of Datang Xinyu and Liu Su, research status, significance of the topic selection, research methods, the selection of version, the criteria and the measurement of the words.The second part analyzes the composition of the Linked words terming from the semantic, part of speech and word order. Among them, at the semantics aspect, we make a classification research from morpheme meaning relations-the same, similar or the contrary morpheme. At the part of speech aspect, we make a classification by researching on nouns, verbs, adjectives and so on. At the word order aspect, we count to the linked polysyllabic according to the Shangguyin Manual written by Tang Zuofan.The third part inspect the new words, new meaning from synchronic and diachronic study, then analyze the characteristic of the linked polysyllabic in Datang Xinyu. Paper’s on linked words in “Datang Xinyu”, tries to reveal the characteristics of composition in order to facilitate the researchers.
