Opera "Canal Ballad" with the background of the Beijing-Hangzhou GrandCanal created by working people in ancient China is the story of a touching love.Heroine named Honglian Shui, is a duet artist, cheerful, with beautiful and movingsinging. Its singing "Canal Ballad" is melodic, refreshing. She was in love with thescholar called Xiaosheng Qin who had gone to Beijing to denounce corrupt. But theycould not be together accidentally. Therefore she was telling the lovesickness toXiaosheng Qin by singing "My dear, are you okay," at night. Finally, she gave up herlove, with an aria "loving you afterlife" expressed the image of a women who wasbrave to love and hate.In the play, the main role is to shape the use of folk singingcharacters. The aria is a type of rich, highly expressive music, depicting a distinctivecharacter. In this paper, the main starting point is the aria of Honglian Shui, anin-depth discussion in terms of the creation of the characteristics of arias and singingtechnique, artistic treatment.
