The training of classic ballet should be strictly based on certain formulas, standards and scientific methods. At the initial stage, trainees should be equipped with the sense of standardization, and then, step by step, dance learners are expected to master the movements, formulas and features of ballet. The instruction of ballet, from lower classes to higher ones, is a gradual process from the basic to the skilled, from the simple to the complex, and from the easy to the difficult. For students’development, elementary education is essential as well as the key. As teachers, we should clearly know the instructional tasks and syllabus for each grade; thus, based appropriate textbooks, teachers can cultivate students’capability and help them solve problems encountered accordingly. By doing so, students can be cultivated scientifically and become competent finally. Teaching materials should function appropriately and efficiently, in a continuous and sustainable way. It is of great significance to do researches on students in their initial stages, which contribute to the classic ballet instruction system. Students in lower classes are characterized by their unique features, so instructions for them should focus on cultivating their interests, sense of standards, and aesthetics of ballet. During the instruction, teachers play a leading role, responsible for daily dance training and teaching activities. Teachers should enhance their professional skills and artistic quality to better their teaching. The paper tries to provide suggestions on choosing teaching materials, making teaching plans, and classroom instructions.The author has worked as an instructor of basic training for students of2012-Session and2013-Session, who major in Song and Dance, in High School Affiliated to Beijing Dance Academy. Based on the analysis of syllabus in this school and the characteristics of ballet teaching, the author combines the theory and practical experience, analyze and summarize various aspects. Then, the writer proposes advices on teachers’professional ability and instruction methods, and finally, this paper appeals dance teachers to enhance their teaching capability and methods; thus, teaching quality lays a solid foundation for cultivating more talents of ballet.
