The mandate can be divided into three periods:the military controlled government period from1917to1922, the period of supporting the Jews and suppressing the Arabs from1922to1933and the period from1933to1948when Britain was trying to strike a balance. A research into the history of British mandate in Jerusalem is very important to understand the Jerusalem issues and the British colonial rule in the Middle East.The dissertation focuses on the different policies by Britain and their ramifications and highlights the relationship between the two nations.
