It is the complex results under the effect of the social theory and the background of time. Early, Hall has been influenced by the traditional Marxists, such as Louis Althusser and Gramsci. And, because it is in the time of Consumption and the time of Media, thus, the factor of cultural study is act in the ideology of Audience. Until the New Right is back in power, Hall focuses on Thatcherism. He tries to use the conception of postmodernism to find out the power of socialism. The concepts of "Discourse" and "Articulation" have the excellent initiative to reject economic determinism and class reductionism. In addition, Hall elaborates the theoretical legacy of Gramsci through the political society and proposes the organic ideology. At this time, the problem of ideology transforms from "True/False" to "how to effect the society" and from " to interpellate subject" to "to constitute subject". It can be say that the theory of ideology of Stuart Hall is open and "without guarantee".
