On The Translation Strategy Of Humanistic Essay

[Abstract] This paper is mainly about the translation of some passages from Liu Yu’s Send You a Bullet and the study of the translation strategies applied in the process. By analyzing the features of Chinese cultural essays that stand out in the four chosen passages:Kitchen Politics, Lack of Flexibility, One Should Be like a Team, and Hunger for Love Syndrome, pointing out English sentence structure and expression mode, discussing the difficulties in the translating process, this paper aims to summarize some useful strategies for cultural essay translation. The whole thesis could be divided into two main parts:the translation and the translation comments. Within the translation comments part, four aspects are stressed:original text analysis, features of cultural essays and general translation strategy, concrete difficulties and solutions, general feelings and comments about this translation practice as well as some unsettled problems.
