Both “the Book of Changes” and “Yi Zhuan” are important parts of Chinese traditional culture as the summary masterpiece of the ancient Chinese philosophical supreme wisdom. “Yi Zhuan” was written during the Warring States Period. It was a symposium commentating and further expounding “the Book of Changes”. It was closely related to Confucius and his doctrine. Its ideology of seeking good luck and avoiding ill luck rooted in the suffering consciousness were advocated in the Book of Changes. It was the product of human consciousness developing from the view of destiny in Primitive Society to the view of harmony between the heaven and human in Slave Society. Since the study and application of the good or ill luck values in “Yi Zhuan” has been a focus of people including learned scholar and common man for years, the relevant subject research has strong theoretical and practical significance.Title of this research “Study on the Ideology of Seeking good and Avoiding Ill Luck in’ Yi Zhuan’ contains of three-way effort: firstly, to explain the background and theoretical origin of “Yi Zhuan”. "Yi Zhuan" is a compatible with hundreds of sui generis philosophical works, as the product of the development of the philosophy in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Suffering consciousness is the root of the ideology of seeking good luck and avoiding ill luck, with "nature and humanity" dialectics of Yin and Yang being its philosophy methodology basis. "Yi Zhuan" thinking and avoiding connotation related to the concept of the good or ill luck varies from person to person, and embodies in "the no blame". It takes a border style as an approach to explore the problems in Modern Chinese literature; secondly, to discuss the "Yi Zhuan" methodology with the main path for studying each stage of the development of "Yi Zhuan" in the events. Any event would experience three stages: sprouting, grandness and ending. At the first stage, one should learn to “perceive the signs” and know how to take corresponding measures according to different measures under the guidance of the Materialist Dialectical development outlook. At the second stage, to achieve the purpose of seeking good and avoiding ill luck, one should master the art of following time and adjusting oneself to the current situation. “Following time” means changing with and adapting oneself to timeliness based on “understanding time” and “biding time”. “Shi” and “wei” are inseparable. To seek good and avoid ill luck, one should exert instant mean in ethical choice. At the third stage, one should know the principle of change, which is the universal principle of everything. The rule of changing is one of the four most important principles in Yi Zhuan. Therefore it’s wise to judge good and ill luck from the perspective of development. Human is the most important factor during the entire process of development. The essential way to seek good and avoid ill luck is the fostering of moral character, upholding virtue inwardly, cultivating virtue in action be discreet about what one says. In such way, one can live a smooth and peaceful life, seeking good and avoiding ill luck, as if God was with you and you can get along well with everything you do. Thirdly, the thinking and avoiding theory value in "Yi Zhuan" is to clarify the connotations from the philosophy level up to study the meaning of "the book of changes", which gives its enlightenment function to contemporary individuals in a market economy in philosophy and ethics.
