Henry Miller is a controversial American writer. He collected many kinds of Modernist techniques for his own purposes. The novels that he created haven’t coherent plots and word games are full of balderdash. Illogical associations, teasing exaggerated strokes, stern and wonderful arguments, and unexpected lament. They made many critics and readers lovely. Filthy imagery occurred frequently and describe "sex" unscrupulously that made people open their eyes. This article tried to start from the two of Miller’s "Trilogy" novels, and explore the thinking way of striving for" Self-reconstruction" in the 20th century cultural context.
