Economic growth is the ultimate goal of development in each country or region, and urbanization plays an important role in economic growth, to achieve the goal of economic growth, there needs the matched urbanization rate, when lacking of urbanization rate, the growth rate of economic will be low, which could not finish the desired economic growth goal. Therefore, how the match relationship between economic growth and urbanization is, which is an important theoretical and practical significance of problem for every country or region Eighteen meeting proposed by 2020, China’s per capita GDP more than double by 2010, Yunnan provincial government proposed “increased threefold” and built a moderately prosperous society with the national Synchronization by 2020 basing on the spirit of eighteen meeting. Can the rate of urbanization of Yunnan be able to meet the demand for urbanization of doubling GDP of three? This is Yunnan whether to build a moderately prosperous society with the national synchronization of problem, and this is also the problem to be solved.Firstly, there is a theoretical analysis of the relationship between economic growth and urbanization, and putting forward the hypothesis of the relationship between economic growth and urbanization. Further, by using the Quadrant method to study the relationship between economic growth and urbanization of the region, find both economic growth and urbanization are high in coastal cities, economic growth and urbanization is high match relations, and for the western city, such as Yunnan, their slow economic growth and level of urbanization lags, resulting in economic growth and urbanization is low match relationship. Yunnan economic growth and urbanization rate are lagging behind the national average, therefore, economic growth and urbanization in Yunnan match degree is lower than the national average match degree. Subsequently, using Yunnan and China’ per capita GDP and urbanization rate 2000-2013 years, establishing panel and time series models of economic growth and urbanization, and depending on the result of models, we know that the relationship of economic growth and urbanization is long-term equilibrium. In order to reveal whether the Yunnan’s urbanization level can meet per capita GDP demanding by self-generated growth mechanism, predicting the urbanization rate of Yunnan.By comparing the model of economic growth and urbanization rate relation in Yunnan and China, we can get the following results. Firstly, whether time series model or panel model, the influence of economic growth on urbanization is bigger in Yunnan than China, which explains the lower matching areas, the development potential of urbanization and economic growth are greater, the influence of economic growth on the urbanization is more remarkable. Specifically, the GDP multiplication demand for urbanization rate is different, in Yunnan’ low match model, the value is 52.55 percent, while the Chinese model, the same economic goals, required city rate is 57.73 percent. Second, to synchronization with China, building a moderately prosperous society, the match degree on economic growth and urbanization should be consistent in Yunnan and China, on the basis of the rule, there exists5.18 percent gap. Thirdly, according to self-generated growth mechanism, Yunnan’ urbanization rate will reach 53.66% by 2020, and can meet their own low match model for urbanization rate demand, but can’t achieve China match model of the demand for urbanization rate, there are 4.07 percent gap.Therefore, the relationship of Yunnan’s economic growth and urbanization belongs to low match relationship. Yunnan’ urbanization rate can meet its economic growth target, but if Yunnan does not break this low match relationship, establishing high level match relationship between economic growth and urbanization, improving the match degree, it will be difficult to narrow the gap with the national average level, and it will be not conducive to overall development of Yunnan. When the national economy entered a new normal circumstances, Yunnan should take some measures to explore suitable urbanization road, by accelerating the process of urbanization, playing urban agglomeration effects, pushing economic growth effectively, increasing the match degree of economic growth and urbanization, narrowing the gap with the national average, to achieve synchronization with the national building a moderately prosperous society.
