Merezhkovsky is one of the most influential poet, writer, dramatist, religious philosopher, critics in Russian literature during the last years of the 19 th century and first years of 20 th century. He has become representative of Symbolism in the Silver Age in Russia, spend all the lifetime in personal transcendence and looking for the ideal of life end-result. He proposed that all three "streaks of Modern art" — "Mystic essence, Symbolic language and Impressionism", it could be seen from one of his famous novels, the trilogy Christ and Antichrist. The thesis starts from image system, symbolism and the theory of Bakhtin’s chronotope to analyze the text of the trilogy Christ and Antichrist in order to find the writer’s personality and individual style, explore the themes of the works and the religious ideas of the author.
