A Study On The Sixth Edition Of Modern Chinese Dictionary

In this paper, using the definition of the letter words given by Liu Yongquan:a word that composed by English word(mainly the Latin alphabet) or entirely by the English letters. The reason why the letter words come out not only just the social reasons, but also the internal reason of language. The letter words affect all aspects of language, such an the written form,the vocabulary, the pronunciation,the rhetorical and so on.The letter words are not all come from the English vocabulary, it is also derived from the French,Greek Japanese, Chinese and other language system.This paper mainly explain the form, the meaning and the pronunciations of the letters words. We found that not all the letter words were borrowed from the other countries, but the new form of the Chinese words. On the form, the new way of word formation is just use the different symbol, this symbol happens to be the English letters. On the meaning, not all the letters of the word are the English vocabulary, not all the letter words have the same meanings of the English words. On the sounds peaking, the pronunciation of letters words have not a uniform standards of the state. Some people called like the English letters,some people called like Chinese letters, and some people even plus the value. All these aspects reflect that the letter words are the number of Chinese words. So,we must accept this phenomena. Of course, in the usage of the letter words, it exists some problem like mix using, abuse using and wrong situation using etc. The letter words has been standardized that remains to be national and language workers in order to let the letter words more effectively with us.
