There are huge number of Chinese characters with complex structures and many strokes. Traditional Chinese characters, as a kind of ideograph,are distinguished from other languages for its rectangular planar fea ture. Therefore, Chinese characters are difficult for some overseas students to understand and learn more especially those who are from alphabetic writing countries for that these characters are more like pictures. However, with the heating of Chinese craze, more and more foreign people flood into China to learn Chinese language and culture, which indicates that Chinese language is gradually stepping onto the international stage. Nevertheless, the character represents a critical problem in Chinese language teaching, and even the Chinese character writing skills teaching cannot get enough attention. This task is also of great significance and deserves the research of scholars in External Chinese Academic.Based on the current situation, the author researched the character writing of overseas students at the Intermediate and Advanced levels from Shenyang Normal University and Liaoning University through surveys and its result were used as research data and evidence. Then the author summarized and analyzed the type and the cause of Chinese learners’ writing mistakes in Chinese characters cultural circle and outside of it and, at the same time, put forward some relevant and efficient strategies.This thesis can be roughly divided into four parts, and its main contents are as follows:The Introduction part includes the objective and significance of the study, the study synthesis, study methods, innovation points and its main contents. This paper manly targets the problems about teaching Chinese character to foreigne rs, puts forward the relevant instruction strategies and new models of teaching to improve the general Chinese standard and the ability of mastering the writing overseas of overseas students.Chapter one: The investigation of overseas students’ writing errors and the educational situation. This chapter uses questionnaire to investigate the overseas students in Chinese character cultural circle and non- Chinese character cultural circle, the aim of which is to know their Chinese character writing and the teaching of writing Chinese characters. Finally, after statistics, we can summarize the problems of teaching foreigners to study Chinese characters and the situation of writing errors.Chapter two: The analysis of overseas students’ writing errors. Through the test of the Chinese characters writing level, we can summarize the types and the reasons of their writing errors.Chapter three: The principles and strategies of the teaching of Chinese characters writing. This chapter puts forwards the teaching principles and teaching method. |
