Since entering the Chinese painting, Chinese painting has been inseparable from Western influence. Many domestic artist’s paintings at different levels to mimic Western painting both modes, and these works of art imitating Western phenomenon to a large extent is associated with China’s reality. Chinese artists through "brought" Western art such behavior, and gradually make the Chinese oil painting into the "modernization." Development of Chinese oil painting is one to accept the Western value system and re-interpretation of Western art history. Although China has a number of such acceptance in history, but less than a century in the past century Western art value system is so deeply occupied the Chinese art, this phenomenon is very worthy of our reflection. But imitation is not to say that the concept of an absolute derogatory origins of art in a sense is a kind of imitation, we learn the art of process, it can be said that a process of imitation, a lot of artists are also standing in front grew up on people’s shoulders, they are learning to master painting after previous experience accumulated, gradually developed into his own painting language, from this perspective is that imitation is meaningful and necessary way to go. However, the development of China’s contemporary paintings from the reform and opening up has already had 30 years of history, in this 30-year period of contemporary Chinese painting has been a huge development, in this short period of 30 years, China’s contemporary art left West over hundreds of years of history, in so fast and we are constantly developing the "rebel" prior art, "rebel" Supai, then rebel impressionist, finally the direct use of postmodern theory to rebel Prior Art on the surface it seems that we are making progress, and may in any case it is important "rebellion" or under the Western language system, and always there is no real language has to extract the personal and national character. As an artist how to find their place in such a highly collision of Chinese and Western environment is especially important. In this paper, on these issues to sort out and research, specifically discussed the causes and background of this phenomenon, some sort of representative of the artist to imitate the West case. Western painting language differences and the need to make imitation. For example some of the exploration and personal language localization mature artist. Finally, look for the importance of individual languages in the local culture and real life.
