The Study Of The Use Of Words

As one of the most important part of Southwest minority of China, Naxi people are mainly located in Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet provinces which adjacent to the Lancang river, Jinsha River and its tributaries, and the Yalong River. Naxi had used some totally different properties characters which including Dongba Characters, Geba Characters, Daba Characters, Malimasha Characters, Ruanke Characters and other characters since they have their own characters. Geba Characters, which is the syllabic language, it is mainly used near Lijiangba district, Nanshan, Ludian, Tacheng and part of Weixi County. Geba Characters is less used compared with Daba Characters, because only a few Dongba of a few district used Geba Characters to write a little Classical works, so academic circles didn’t pay too much attention to it. Our paper chose< The Divination Origin Story of Mexi Ethnic> and <Seeking and Gaining the Divination Scripture> as the basic materials, and analyze all the characters of the two books, in order to research Geba Characters how to used in the Classical works, we plan to study it from the homographs, allograph and the ways to express Geba Characters.This dissertation is consisted of five chapters. Chapter one is an introduction. It presents the causes of topic selection, research purpose and significance. And it introduces this study’s methods and basic materials.Chapter two is analyze the homographs of the two books, at first we study the homographs of each book and then try to study the homographs of the two books together, we found that there are many homographs in the Geba Classical works,which are always have the same syllabic or the same meaning.Chapter three is analyze the allograph of the two books, at first we study the allograph of each book and then try to study the allograph of the two books together in order to find out the situation of the allograph in the Geba Classical works.Chapter four is analyze the ways to express Geba Characters, and study all the Geba Characters, we found that there are two ways to express Geba Characters, one way is phonetic expression another is ideographic expression, there is no phonetic expression Combine ideographic expression. Through the study we found that as the syllabic language, phonetic expression is the main way to express Geba Characters, and there are still only a little ideographic expression,because Geba Characters are not fully developed, and it was influenced by Dongba Characters.Chapter five we analyze the grammatically-partial words, digital, proper nouns, and we can found different Dongbas writing style.Research on the Geba Characters of the Geba Classical works, in this article, we try to find out the phenomenon Geba Characters used in the works.
