There is a trend of "country-specific" in teaching Chinese as second language. Therefore, most researches about making Chinese teaching more "country-specific" only focus on making teaching material like textbooks and practices more county-specific. There is very few paid attention to "lexical syllabus", which is very important and basic in language teach ing.This dissertation is divided into five parts.Chapter one is introduction. In this chapter the author explained why to choose this topic for the research and how is the author going to carry it out. In the last part of this chapter, it includes some relevant research made by other researchers.Chapter two is about the basic facts of "country-specified lexical syllabus".In chapter three, the author talks about the main parts of the lexical syllabus and the major steps of making it. These are nct language-spec i fic, but it helps while making a specific language lexical syllabus.Next chapter is an example following the rules and steps given in chapter three. The example is based on the Chinese teaching facing the beginning language learners living in America.Last chapter is the conclusion. It talks about the main idea of the whole dissertation and also some shortcomings we need to cover in future research and study.
