“Diao Chan” is one of the most important musical works after the reform of Ray play (thelocal drama in Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong). It introduces contemporary methods,whichare more scientific and more adaptable to the development of the era,to the composing,music style and singing. Also, it is the model of the modern Ray play from many aspects,such as art making, practical performance, and so on. Therefore, it has great researchvalue. The aria “Fei Jiang Qi Hua Fan Bi Lang”(The Flying Oars Are Stirring up GreenWaves) is the most famous part performed by Diao Chan,the heroine in the play. And thesuccess in performing this part will be of great help to improving soprano singingtechniques,expanding range and grasping the drama style. In this paper,the melody andstructure,run-cavity and the extra words,dialect and singing technique,longitudinal veinsand lateral impact on the whole play will be analyzed. And the writer will put forward viewsand opinions on Diao Chan’s new music image from the perspectives of music theory and therelated theory of the humanities,and also sets forth Ray play’s close relationship withthe national vocal music singing techniques and drama image creation.
