Language is the product of cognitive development at a certain stage, and the carrier ofmental activity of human being. Antonyms vocabulary as a part of the system, which itself hasan asymmetrical features. This characteristic in people’s communicative life occupies animportant position, it not only reflects the cognitive psychological characteristics of peoplebut also the way of thinking of refraction of a country and nation and value system. Studyingantonyms and the asymmetry not only helps us to consider the emergence and thedevelopment of all the things existing in the world from the perspective of dialectical unityin philosophy, but also helps us master the methodological foundation of viewing, analyzingand resolving any practical problems. Based on this, the paper seeks to interpret the innerlife,the ideology and the cognitive-psychological characteristics of the people who speak thetarget language by studying antonyms and the asymmetry of antonyms, so that we can givethose who study Russian profound insights into the Russian people.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion.The first part serves as introduction, which presents the development background ofRussian Abbreviations. On its basis, proposed the research objectives, methods andsignificance.The main body is divided in five chapters:The first chapter mainly to sort out the situation for Russian antonyms and asymmetrystudies, which summarizes the research status and development trends of Russian antonyms,to determine the direction of the research paper.The second chapter introduces the concept of Russian antonyms, formation conditionsand the type classification of Russian antonyms, as Russian antonyms asymmetry analysisprovides a clear context.The third chapter we study the theory of markedness and prove the asymmetry ofRussian antonyms to provide theoretical basis of the paper.The fourth paper is the focus of this paper, summarizing the asymmetry of Russianantonyms and its manifestations at different levels. Besides, it also specific analysis thephenomenon of the asymmetry of Russian antonymsThe fifth chapter analyzes people’s cognitive-psychological characteristics and valuesaccording to the asymmetry of Russian antonyms.Conclusion is the summary of the whole thesis.The innovation of this paper is to explore the cognitive psychology features of Russian antonyms by related theories of cognitive psychology.
