A Comparative Study Of Chinese Sentence Patterns And English Corresponding Sentences

The paper conducts a contrastive analysis of translating syntactical structure about "chule" between English and Chinese, with statistic analysis of two-way parallel linguistic material about English and Chinese translation. Meanwhile, this paper conducts a research on the corresponding syntactic structure of "chule" in English, its using frequency and the semantic inclination.The research indicates that Chinese "chule" and the English corresponding "chule" is under the "one to several" condition. But, the same corresponding "chule" still ranks the top of the using frequency. It indicates the similar using inclination between English and Chinese syntactic structure.The using frequency between Chinese "chule" and its corresponding English syntactic structure is going to be the same. Whatever, Chinese syntactic structure Ⅱ and its corresponding English syntactic structure Ⅱ are the most frequent syntactic structure. Syntactic structureIVand its corresponding English syntactic structureⅣ rank the second place. Syntactic structure V and its corresponding English syntactic structure V are the least frequent syntactic structure.Among English sentences,"chule" indicates "exclusion" at most time, in which English corresponding syntactic sentence Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅳ are obviously present the exclusion inclination. What’s more,"all","rhetorical question" and negative words can be regarded as the exclusive signal, and the negative words are the most popular exclusive signal. And "also" can be treated as the additional signal.Besides, among the corresponding words "chule" in English translation,"except" ranks the top,"but" and "besides" rank the second and the third. On the expressing habbit, Chinese often puts the small sentence before the main sentence, while English sentence is opposite.
