Giuseppe Verdi(1813-1901)is one of the19th century’s most important composers of the European opera creation, most of his works win universal praise in the world."Un ballo in maschera" is one of the masterpieces of his mature creative period, until today is still played often in the world’s major opera house and not decline. This article will research the music of "Un ballo in maschera", selective analysis the nature of person and the implication of drama, also seek artistic value and human sense of opera.There are three chapters in this dissertation.The first chapter is to summarize of Verdi’s opera creation course. Expounds the life of Verdi and each period of his opera works, introducing "Un ballo in maschera" in two aspects of creative background and the introduction of story. As the body of this dissertation, the second and third chapters analyze the drama implies of opera from the characteristics of the character in the drama, in order to explore the art value of opera. The second chapter mainly analyze the character from the aspects of music, through the analysis of Riccardo^Amelia and Renato three main characters’ personality characteristics, to render Verdi’s dramatic creation technique, reveal the drama of the opera. The third chapter is in three levels of blend the genre、present the persons’relations and express the drama of "false plane", to cause the discussion of the drama implies. After the first and second chapter of bedding and analysis, the third chapter show a perfect interpretation of Verdi, in the aspect of creating the genre, presentation of characters, and expression the drama, etc. In "Un ballo in maschera",we can see the love and enmity、happiness and sadness、truth and falseness. From the great composer Verdi, we can see the brilliance in humanity.
