Ernest. Hemingway was a very famous American writer. He was a very greatmaster of literature with high reputation in American literature history of the20thcentury. In1954, Hemingway received the Nobel Prize in Literature for "goodcommand of modern narrative art". And for his well used of the modern narrative art,Hemingway could created the new unique writing style, that made his novels beenmarked "Ernest Hemingway style", and his style also effected a lot of writers. Thepurpose of this paper is about to discuss the style of Hemingways novels from theterm of his unique narrative art. And I think that the model、time、visual and soundare all present the style of Hemingways novels. simplicity、purifying、and clear is thestyle of Hemingways novels that achieved through his well used the factor ofnarrative. And this style was built by his practice of his own theory of creation"iceberg principle"(more actions and fewer statements). No matter by adjusting therelationship of time and text, or digging the inner specialty of the differentobservation view, these ways all made the readers feel like the narrator "stand farbeyond the story". Hemingway was a writer who hold a ax in his hands, with his ax,he cut all the showy、garish and repeat, and chased the purpose of communicationbetween the novels and the readers directly. Thus, Hemingway has completelypurified the novels style by his unique theory and principle of creation and the otherfactors like the narrative and form.
