Clinical Observation Of The Effect Of Du Mianzhi Method On Acute Sclerosis In Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

Objective:Based on the characteristic of deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality of Multiple sclerosis,kidney deficiency is the root of pathogenesis,and dampness-heat is the product of pathogenesis transformation.This characteristic penetrates the occurrence and development of Multiple sclerosis from beginning to end, which is the basic pathogenesis of pathogenesis. Choosing the acupoints mainly of Du meridian,the test group adopts Xingshui ointment which can clearing heat and eliminating dampness to paste on Dazhui acupoint and so on,Fuyangyihuo ointment which can reinforcing kidney and warming yang to paste on Mingmen acupoint and so on. The control group applys placebo to the acupoints. Comparing the curative effect of Du meridian Sticking Therapy at the acute stage of Multiple sclerosis based on pathogenesis,in order to underlie for the progressiveness and reliability of the method of combining disease and syndrome,and provide new thoughts on the clinical treatments of Multiple sclerosis.Method:This research adopts double-blind randomized controlled study and uses the random number table method to generate random sequence.The cases included in the standard are divided into the test group and the control group randomly. The test group was treated with fundamental therapeutic schemes and medicine acupoint sticking therapy,while the control group was treated with fundamental therapeutic schemes and placebo acupoint sticking therapy.The acupoint sticking therapy of medicine applys Xingshui ointment to add and subtract for the purpose of clearing heat and eliminating dampness, Fuyangyihuo ointment to add and subtract for the purpose of reinforcing kidney and warming yang. Xingshui ointment and placebo are dissolved by rice vinegar and then pasted to Dazhui acupoint and so on,Fuyangyihuo ointment are dissolved by ginger juice and then pasted to Mingmen acupoint and so on.The two groups are treated 4 to 6 hours each time,once a day.The course of the treatment is 28 days.After the treatment,comparing the changes of the total points of EDSS, improvements of pyramid function, sensory function, rectum or bladder function, brain (mind) function,cerebellar function,brainstem function,visual function,and Barthel index,TCM symptom scores before and after the treatment.In addition,we also observe the adverse events happening in the two groups.Result:The patients(n=21) are randomly divided into the test group(n=11) and the control group(nr=10).One case in the test group is eliminated because of short-term follow-up.20 cases are included in the data analysis. There are no significant differences in aspects of sex,age,education,past medical history,pyramid function,cerebellar function,brainstem function, sensory function,rectum or bladder function, visual function, brain (mind) function,total scores of EDSS,Barthel index and TCM symptom scores.After the treatment,the test group’s improvements in aspects of sensory function,rectum or bladder function,brain (mind) function are better than that in the control group. It has statistical significance(P< 0.05).There are no significant differences in aspects of pyramid function,cerebellar function,brainstem function,visual function (P>0.05).Despite all this,the observed magnitude of improvement of pyramid function is higher in the test group than in the control group.There is statistical significance in the scores of EDSS between the two groups(P< 0.01),while the test group can better change it.In aspect of TCM symptom scores,no difference can be seen between the test group(8.60±1.89) and the control group(8.30±2.40),28 days later,it has statistical significance(P< 0.05).When it comes to Barthel index,the developments in the test group are better than the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate in the test group is 90%,in the control group is 70% and there is statistical significance(P <0.05).It indicates the curative effect of Du meridian acupoint application by adopting Xingshui ointment and Fuyangyihuo ointment is better than not use it.No adverse events can be discovered in the two groups after the treatment.Conclusion:On the basis of oral taking Chinese medicine according to treatment based on syndrome differentiation,aiming at the pathogenesis of Multiple sclerosis,combining medicine acupoint application of external therapy can alleviate the clinical symptoms of Multiple sclerosis patients effectively and enhance the activities of daily living.Its curative effect is superior to use differential treatment solely. The medicine acupoint application of external therapy expands the cilinical therapeutic means of Multiple sclerosis.And it’s also beneficial for the formation of systemic therapy which not only combines internal and external therapies,but also pay equal importance to pathogenesis and syndromes.
