objectiveTo analyze the lung function and the right ventricular systolic function of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by echocardiography. Discussing the relationship between the lung function and the right ventricular function in COPD patientsMethodAccording to the standard of lung function, we selected 160 hospitalized patients of COPD. The parameters of right ventricular systolic function were detected by echocardiography, including right ventricular internal diameter (RVID), right ventricular anterior wall thickness(RVAW), Right ventricular anterior wall motion amplitude(RVAWM), right ventricular ejection fraction(RVEF), pulmonary artery internal diameter(PAID)and right ventricular myocardial performance index(RVMPI or Tei index). The lung function include FEV1% and FEV1/FVC. The correlation between them was analyzed.Results1.Correlation Analysis the right ventricular systolic function with FEV1 in COPD patients: Tei index of RV was significant negative correlation with FEV1(%) (r=-0.88, p=0.001) RVEF was moderate negative correlation with FEV1(%)(r=-0.76, p=0.005). But there was not relationship between FEV1(%) and the RVID,RVAW, RVAWM,PAID.(p>0.05)2.Correlation Analysis the right ventricular systolic function with FEV1/FVC in COPD patients:Tei index of RV was moderate positive correlation with FEV1/FVC (r=0.79, p=0.002).The other parameters of right ventricular systolic function were no correlation with FEVl/FVC.(p>0.05)ConclusionTei index and RVEF are the sensitive parameters of the right ventricular systolic function. Tei index and RVEF have negative correlation with FEV1 in the COPD patients.Tei index has positive correlation with FEV1/FVC. There is significant correlation between the lung function and the right ventricular systolic function in patients with COPD.
