Developping rapidly with Internet, network attracts people with abundant network resource. People's life can not do without the network any more, such as amusement of the network, network recreation, shopping at network, etc. These result in broadband users to increase rapidly. Managing port of DSLAM by hand can't already satisfy demands. In order to enhance quality of service, attract more customers and standardize users' behavior that they use broadband network, ISP (Internet service provider) must manage port of DSLAM rapidly and correctly. All those means that a good Automatic Port Management System(APMS) is absolutely necessary. Automatic Port Management System is important to QoS of network, user's benefit and profit of ISP. In this acticle, the principle, the design, the implenentation and the key technology are researched in detail. The following contents are primary. 1)Introduced broadband network,network actuality,network access mode and port of DSLAM management techology. 2)Introduced SNMP protocol and application of Management information base in port management system. 3)Introduced principle of managing port of DSLAM; 4)Analysed demands of Automatic Port Management System; 5)Designed the technology scheme, the whole frame, functions and databse construction of Automatic Port Management System; 6)Researched solution of key functions and techolgy. This paper presents a collection of solutions: used Java muti-thread for enchanced performance, used JDBC for improving access database speed, used adapter to communicat with DSLAM. The experiment proved that these schemes receive the good result and can turn on/off user's port fast and accurately. Meanwhile, system supports many ways of managing port.
