In this dissertation, we summarize laser diode pumped solid state laser (DPL) briefly, which involve the evolution of DPL, the trait of DPL comparing with LD and lights pumped solid state laser, and its application. Taking output laser power, slope efficiency as optimizing criterion, we achieve output optimal mirror transparency and pump lights parameters by numeric computing according to rate equation theory. We made a laser crystal thermal model and derive the thermal-focus with a simple analysis. Some results for cavity designing is obtained through numeric computing. For assuring persistent safe and steady running of LD, we design a driver and temperature control system and test its electric performances. Furthermore, a control software is designed for dominating this system. A simulation model is build in MATLAB-Simulink, through simulating, we obtain a group of optimized PID control parameters which make temperature control precision precede ±0.02°C. The stability of current output form stable current source precede ±0. 004A.
