The Design And Implementation Of Metadata Management System Within Large-Scale Transaction Processing System

With the rapid development of modern science and information technology, applications in network environment keep on growing. More and more applications present characteristics such as huge data amount and complicated data structure. The data management of system is elaborate and difficult. With the challenge of new technology, the importance of meta data and meta information has been more and more compelling. The management of metadata has achieved enormous development. How to build a metadata management system on a large-scale application system has catched more and more people's eyes.This paper is based on Large-Scale Transaction Processing System, researchs the design and accomplishment of metadata management system. First, this paper introduces the characterist of metadata and its management technology in every phase within the development course of metadata and its management technology. And then, we analyze the present condition of metadata management and research the rudiment of metadata management technology. Next, we emphasize the characterist and structure of the Large-Scale Transaction Processing System, and analyze the problem of this system in detail, and then bring up the solution scheme-building a metadata management system.Based on what has mentioned above, according to the characterist of Large-Scale Transaction Processing System, a metadata management system with a four-layer architecture and the separation of business metadata and technology metadata is established. And we design and accomplish a metadata management tool-StarDM. This management system manages availably the metadata of Large-Scale Transaction Processing System, simplifies the maintain and raises the working efficiency of this system.
