Narrative Analysis On The News Report

During a long period, our whole understanding to news wanders up and down on a narrow road. Sometimes it's only the summary of experiences, Sometimes it's the discription of the phenomenon in media development, Sometimes it provides policy guidance for the development of media industry. Those are outside discussions of laws on news; on the other hand, theoretical research of laws on news is relatively much less. Sharp contrast to the relative lagging of theory is the trend that the ways of news report are enriching constantly in the reality. So news report's moving towards "Type consciousness" becomes an important problem demanding prompt solution.Narratology is a discipline to study narration and different kinds of narrative types. it is devoted to probe into laws of structure and relations between various kinds of narrative elements. In fact, the news report is an important kind of narration type in modern society, having extremely important influence on people's life. This text attempts to study the narration of news report and the narrative structure characteristics of the news report with the aid of Narratology, which proves that there is a dialectical relationship exists between the news narration and the social concepts and ideas, especially in relation with those mainstream concepts and ideas of society. News narration is often a power of duplication and reconstruction.This text mainly devides into four parts. The first part is a definition of narration and Narratology, explaining the meaning of introducing Narratology to the journalism field briefly. The second part is to prove that the news report is a kind of narration. And it summarizes the characteristics and types of news narration. The third part studies the "point of view" in narration and other potential narrative factors mainly. It takes the "feminist narrating" as a sample to prove the existence of "mechanical impression ". A large number of news report about "woman" can be seen as "mechanical impressions" as a result of Sexism. The fourth part regards news report as one initiative narrating behavior. Narrators are exploring the ways of narrating constantly in order to realize their own rhetoric purpose. This part enumerates and analyses several respects such as the "metaphor" and the absorption that news report draw lessons from the literature narrating and history narrating.
