Multi-beam swath bathymeter is a seafloor mapping equipment with high efficiency,high accuracy and excellent resolution,especially fitted for wide sweep mapping.The multi-beam swath bathymetric technique needs more improvement with the developing of modern science and technology. Miniaturization of the bathymeter is currently the main goal of this field.In the paper, the miniaturization of multi-beam swath bathymeter based on the H/HCS-017,the first multi-beam swath bathymeter of our country, was argued. The main works of this paper are exploiting a set of real time display and control software of multi-beam swath bathymeter and complete the interface of the miniature multi-beam swath bathymeter based on USB Bus.In the thesis, firstly, the design idea and plan of miniaturization of the shallow multi-beam bathymeter were researched. A set of real time display and control software running in the environment of Windows was developed in the advanced programme language VC++6.0 to make it visual, manipulative easily, flexible, patulous. The data transmission on the basis of RS-232 was completed in this thesis. In addition, the emphasis was putted on the exploitation of USB interface driver.The frame of WDM driver for USB Bus device based on Windows2000 was founded with DriverWorks. It can used to improve and consummate the miniaturization of multi-beam swath bathymeter further.
