Traditional transaction processing was applied primarily in the fields of database system and operating system. With the rapid development of network and distributed object technology, it is very important to study transaction processing under distributed and heterogeneous computing environment. The chief technology of distributed application development, CORBA, is discussed, and basic concept and transaction property related to transaction processing and several kinds of transaction models are introduced in detail. The management technology, the parallel control technology and the recovery technology of distributed transaction are studied gravely. At the same time several major distributed transaction processing models at present are compared and analyzed. After that, a kind of distributed transaction processing model based on Multi-Agent is put forward by means of the cooperative conception of Multi-Agent and the property of heterogeneous data integration system. It is established on the basis of the object transaction service model of CORBA, and it has good properties that are no concern with OS platform and programming language and so on. It is applied extensively to distributed and heterogeneous computing environment, and high performance and high usability application can be established. The transaction controlling method, processing interface and key data structure related to the implementation of the model are given, and the concrete implementation of client, server and six transaction Agents are analyzed and designed at length. The application of the model and the specialty of transaction processing is illustrated and shown by an example.
