Optical fiber communication will play an important role in the future society of information. The optical data network that is based upon the technology of IP over DWDM not only sufficiently uses huge band-width resource of optical fiber, but also has the flexibility of IP service. Hence it will become the tendency of future communication network. The study about it has been carrying out all around the world. Today there are sill some difficulties in realizing all optical network. So we are mostly studying the semitransparent optical transport networks nowadays. In optical transport networks, there are three possible solution of optical transport network: WR (Wavelength Routing), OPS (Optical Packet Switching) and OBS (Optical Burst Switching). OBS is refered to some technology where several IP packets with the same destination and some common attributes like quality of service (QoS) are assembled into a burst and are forwarded through the network as one entity. OBS is considered as the most promising solution of optical transport network because when compared with WR and OPS, it has a middle switching unit and combines their merit and avoid their their defect. This paper carries out some research on the offset-time-based QoS scheme, puts forward a new synthetic solution for supporting QoS based on the Burst Dropping Directly technique. This synthetic solution consists of the Burst Segmentation technique and Latest Available Unused Channel with Void Filling (LAUC-VF) scheduling algorithms. In order to evaluate the effectivity of the synthetic solution when it is applied to an optical burst switching network, an analyses model has been established. The results of simulation and performance evaluation have been shown that the new synthetic solution can be very efficient in QoS guarantee. In addition, the concept of normal deflection routing algorithm, mechanism for solving contention, and both benefits and limitations of the algorithm are discussed in this chapter. According to the disadvantage, various improved deflection routing algorithms are introduced and analyzed in detail. The analysis was focused on realization mechanism of these various algorithms and the improvement of network performance.
