Computer network is the offspring of close combination of the computer technology andcommunicating technology, and it is indispensable to us now, so the quality of service ofnetwork consequently becomes an important issue for the people. The queue scheduling mechanism is seen as a vital factor in ensuring the QoS of thenetwork. An effective scheduling mechanism lies on its scheduling algorithm. The schedulingalgorithms that are used in networks at present are DropTail, RED, FQ, DRR etc. Networksadopting different scheduling algorithms are simulated based on NS2. Then throughanalyzing the data acquired from the simulation, the paper comes to a conclusion which ishelpful for research on improving the network QoS.The MAC protocol affects networking performance. We study two MAC methods inMobile Ad hoc network: IEEE802.11 based on CSMA/CA and protocol based on TDMA.We also do some simulations of the two different MAC protocols in Mobile Ad hoc networkrespectively. By computing and comparing the data acquired from the simulation, thenetworking performance has been compared and analyzed.Meanwhile, the routing security in Mobile Ad hoc network is also involved. An idea thatthe Onion Routing could be used in Mobile Ad hoc network is presented. Owing to somereasons, simulation about this has not been carried out. But the author does the qualitativeanalysis in the paper, which will help for the further study.
