Lu Xun's Thoughts And Practice Of Editing And Publishing In The Vision Of Cultural Propagating

Mr. Lu Xun' s lofty status in the history of modern Chinese literature is a fact known to all, but literary creation of Lu Xun and his editing and publishing cause developed together. We can say Lu Xun not only a great writer, thinker, but also a great editor and publisher. Editing and publishing activity followed Lu Xun' s life and he made remarkable contribution in the history of modern publication in our country. While taking infinite pains in making spiritual grand banquet for us, he had left abundant thought and practice of editing and publishing for us too. To Lu Xun, editing was not a pure skill but a creative work embodying his literary thoughts and his spiritual strength. He regarded editing work as a kind of necessary and meaningful work. He finished and reflected his responsibility and mission of the progressive intellectual through editing and publishing work, namely carrying on enlightenment, transforming the society, building a kind of new culture. This is Lu Xun' s original intention to engage in editing and publishing cause, and this is Lu Xun's farsighted conception as editor and publisher too.As a editor and publisher, Lu Xun not merely did his utmostto keep and carry forward outstanding traditional culture and recommend and propagate foreign progressive literature and art, but also threw into a large amount of energies to encourage contemporary literary and artistic creation and find and cultivate young writers.
