Recently, the growth of the embedded product market is very rapid. And with the development of the network technology, the browser has been an essential part of many embedded systems. A lot of companies invest much in the researchment and the development of the WAP browser.The WAP browser is a complex system. And it is difficult to develop a successful WAP browser. This thesis primarily discusses what I have done in the project, the research of the WAP browser, especially WAE layer and the parser of the WAP browser.The main research content of the thesis is as follows:(1) Introduce the browser of WAP and shows the background of the project.(2) Introduce the architecture of Wireless Application Protocol and Wireless Application Environment. Expound the foundation knowledge of the http protocol.(3) Deeply analyzed the design process of the browser parser and makeup. The software architecture design of the WAP browser emphasizes that the mold design and the protocol layering thought, is divided into the realization of the browser of WAP MMI, Browser, WAP task, the WTLS task etc. child mold. To assurance transplant, give the work principle diagram which currency use goodly in the MMI design. Analyzed and compare the different and similars between of HTML and WML, put forward the thought and realization method that convert WML label into HTML label then unify parse. For the sake of the convenience of the realization, design the http state machine for http protocol which no state and no type originally. In order to reduce resource consume, design the suitable crop of the HTML label.
