In this paper, the low-voltage power line channel characteristics is researched, a scheme of Broadband Power Line Communication based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is discussed and analyzed by simulation. First, Power Line Communication (PLC) is introduced. The noise and attenuation characteristics of power line channel are measured and modeled. Then, the OFDM system principles are introduced. A OFDM system based on the measured channel characteristics is proposed and simulated by MATLAB. The process of choosing the OFDM system parameters is introduced. The influence of power line channel noises on the bit error ratio (BER) performance of the OFDM system is analyzed by simulation.
