| Group work can be divided into two parts: individual work and group cooperative work. To make computer more important in human activities, it is not enough to only support individual work. People began to study how to support cooperative human activities, so as to improve the efficiency and quality of group work, through computer. Computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) exactly in this case arose at the historic moment. CSCW is a cross discipline. The research scope is widespread that involves the multitudinous research content, however, it is insufficiently perfect at present and there are many challenges to solve, especially collaboration awareness.This paper is focused on collaboration awareness. On the basis of summarization and analysis of the findings of CSCW and collaboration awareness, a preliminary exploration of collaboration awareness has been made in CSCW system. We have put forward a collaboration awareness model based on event, also analyzed the component of the model from the concept aspect. The model includes three components: awareness object, awareness event, awareness interest, which is based on member's awareness interests and uses the events to describe the changes in collaboration working environment. The members in collaboration working environment achieve collaboration awareness through the events. The paper thinks the question of collaboration awareness in CSCW from a new angle. It offers us a new way to solve collaboration awareness between coordination members. In the development of the application system of CSCW, we lack the usable framework. In this case, we design and develop a collaboration awareness framework based on event according to the model. Using the framework, systematic developer can realizecollaboration awareness service in the collaboration design system. It can reduce the degree of difficulty of development of the application system, and raise the development period of the whole system.
