A Data Model Of Heterogeneous Data Integration Based On RCM

With the development of computer network technology, enterprises start to develop many application systems based on various software and hardware platform, consequently many abundant data source are accumulated, including structured data in database, non-structured data in file system, and semi-structured data in web service. In the sake of avoiding reconstructing and wasting of data source, enterprises are eager to integrate these heterogeneous data source, which are separated in the locations and self-management and heterogeneous in data module.This paper discusses the problems in heterogeneous data integration and an approach is proposed for deriving a global representation of datasources having different formats and structures. The proposed approach is based on the exploitation of aparticular conceptual model for both uniformly representing such data sources and reconstructing both their intra-source and their inter-source semantics. Along with the global representation, our approach returns two support structures which improve the access transparency to stored information, i.e. a set of mappings, encoding the transformations carried out during the construction of the global representation, and a set of views, obtaining instances of the concepts of the global representation from instances of the concepts of the input data sources.
