China is a big traditional textile industry country, but the textile equipments we've widely used remain a rather low level corresponding to international 80s or 90s last century. An effective method to change this backward state is to electrify and intelligentize the textile equipments. This scheme can save investment, quickly takes effect and has a good development prospect.Quilting machine is one of textile equipments that are widely used in Chinese textile industry at present. But most of quilting machines produced in china are mechanical. Although some of them have been electrified, the control method used in this kind of machine is open-loop control and needs the assistance of the person. Moreover, the moving system of the quilting machine is a complicated non-linear system, and it is difficult for this traditional control method to control the multi-variables system and get good performance and ideally expected effects.In order to overcome the drawbacks of the traditional control system, a GA-based two-stage intelligent fuzzy controller is present with the experience and knowledge of the experts. In this controller, two fuzzy sub-controllers are respectively built for position control and length of step control. The real-valued genetic algorithm is used to tune the parameters of the fuzzy sub-controllers in the accelerating stage and decelerating stage in order to ensure the positioning precision. The new control method has the following merits: firstly, it needs not the precise mathematical model of the controlled object; secondly, it can deal with highly non-linear complex system and has strong adaptation and good robustness.This thesis discusses fuzzy control theory and genetic algorithm; dissertates emphatically the apply of two-stage fuzzy control method in the moving interpolation control of the quilting machine; illuminates the idea of the design and implementation for the software and hardware of the system in details; at the same time, with the technology characteristics of the quilting machine, the thesis discusses the methods of anti-interference in order to enhance the reliability of the control system .The work we do will promote strongly the development of the textile machine's control technology and gain huge economic benefits. At the same time, it will promote the development of intelligent fuzzy control technology and its extensive application.
