It's very significant to design a video sample, processing system which is independent of PC platform. Designing the system needs to grasp video theory, image processing theory and embedded microprocessor technology. The main objective of this thesis is to accomplish the research and design of the system characterizing its powerful function and high performance-to-price ratio. Hardware design and software development the video sample system are shown in the thesis.One of main problems is directly involved with the current embedded system project based on development of RTOS. The question is how to well run the real-time system on user's hardware board whilst the RTOS can not be largely modified. Among such RTOS-based systems, Board Support Package (BSP) is also an important factor. Then the thesis studies the basic concept of BSP for WinCE in case video sample hardware platform and analyzes detailedly the process of BSP development, including memory configuring, drive design of UART, clock and interrupt controller. The thesis expounds the interface between BSP and RTOS and explains that how to optimize the whole system performance through setting the correlative parameters.All the ideas, methods, tools and the realizations of hardware and software discussed in the dissertation are described in researching and developing the color video sample, processing system, which is significant in practicality. Based on the hardware platform, equipped suitable software, it can be easily applied in many fields, such as safety and supervise monitor, fingerprint, cultural relic and jewelry authentication.
