The topic of this article is the journalism and the propaganda of the Nazi Germany. The first part is an introduction about the background and the form of the Nazi Germany journalism system. The second part is about the actions of the Nazi Germany before the World War â…¡ (normal time) and during the period of the war( wartime). After those analysis, I want to discuss the influence the war may have on a nation's journalism system, the relationship between the medium and its government, and problems wartime journalism system may face. For the Nazi Germany that Hitler built up, the journalism was only a tool of the propaganda. According to his comprehension about journalism and propaganda, Hitler established the journalism system of the Nazi and the Nazi Germany. In the Nazi Germany, the political system with only one leader and one party autocracy brought convenience and power to such highly-centralized journalism system and thoughts. From 1933 when this highly-centralized journalism system and propaganda organization were built up to 1945, the strategy with the journalism as a tool of the propaganda had been put into operation by the Nazi Germany. The reasons why the Nazi Germany employed this special journalism system of putting propaganda to the first place was: Hitler's personal influence is the most important, and other inducements such as the Germany history and the times background can't be neglected too. In normal time, the Nazi Germany treatedjournalism as a toolof the propaganda and it was natural that during the wartime, this was worse. As an extraordinary period, war will objectively affect a nation's journalism system and the relationship between the medium and its government. During the non-normal period, the governments of all countries urge to strengthen and adjust the control to journalism mediums. The relationship between governments and their mediums, or the degree and the ways that governments can get involved in the medium's operations varies dramatically during the normal conditions. The political systems, the journalism systems and the ability that nations can affect mediums are different, so controlling ways and the degree of getting involved are relatively not the same, and the final result is different. When a nation is in the wartime, the influence of government's mechanism on its medium, actual ability of the influence, as well as the influence degrees will still be different.
