| With the development of the network and distributed technology, CSCW (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work) is becoming a hot topic in the computer field. At the same time, in the field of CAI (Computer-Assisted Instruction), CSCL (Computer supported collaborative learning) is also developing with the development of e-learning. CSCL amalgamates the theory of CAI and the technology of CSCW, and it makes up the insufficiency of interact in e-learning. Now, it has become a mainly method in e-learning. The problem of roles has been very important in CSCL. It is very crucial for roles' assignment in the process of learning, just because that roles' assignment affects the learning efficiency directly.But it is insufficiency in the research of roles' assignment. Firstly, the concept of role is limited to teacher and student in CSCL. Simplex role of student can't adapt the complex activity in CSCL. Secondly, there is no role model and no research on roles' formalization. Thirdly, there is no research about roles' assignment in CSCL and no roles' assignment is based on AI.
