Every walk of life will participate in the development and application of the Grid Technology. Thus, study on Grid application is becoming the focus in incoming years. The concept of Case Library is reflected obviously on manufacturing industry. It is becoming a focal point of some businesses that how to retain the rewarding experience. Building case library is one of the solutions. It has the common sense to many industries. Taking for instance the auto mold manufacturing, the manufacturer has regarded the CAE Analysis as the important link and requested designers to make CAE analysis to the stamped parts before mold designing. Manufacturers with large-scale will do hundreds of molds per year, so the data out of CAE analysis is quite big. These cases may be at different positions. How to organize and manage the data is the issue considered by businesses. As analysis stated above, Case Library has the following characteristics: Case Library may be distributed and saved over different places while users will use it in concentrated way. However, this feature is the reflection of Grid Surroundings. Doing study on Grid Based Case Library has significant sense to the development of case library application. The context is to discuss the application of case library of auto mould design in the Grid Surroundings. Details are as follows: 1.Study or Grid Computing & Grid service Theory: summarizing the related concepts; researching the notions of OGSA, Open Grid Services Architecture and presenting relative to OGSA, especially the Grid Service. At last, establishing a grid surroundings based on Globus. 2.Following with characteristics of Business case library, combing the features of grid, Design a model plat form of case library based on grid. That is a 4-layer hierarchy system model of Case Library. It is composed of Information Layer, Interaction Layer, Collective Layer, and Application Layer. 3.Design a platform of case library based on grid and give details of its hierarchy system framework. It covers: Case Library Case Service (CLCS), Case Node Management Service (CNMS); Case Library Register service (CLRS) and Case Library Aggregation Service (CLAS). CLCS takes change of abstract ing cases from Case Library. CNMS takes charge of managing and registering the services of Case Library Node to CLRS. CLRS, which is a register center, collects all the case services. CLAS is a logical heart of all cases. CLUS takes charge of users'application and cases request input. 4.Select an application instance of case library: case library for auto mould designing and manufacturing.
