| > Internet has evolved into an indispensable segment in people's work and life in the current society. Inevitably, with the development of internet, electronic office, electronic business and the like have bloomed. This requires new means of identity authentication, for the customary signatures and badges have failed to adapt to the advancement of electronic information. Consequently the technology of digital certification and digital signature emerges at the adequate moment. Nonetheless, the digital signature lacks an explicit interface, which is incompliant to many people. To complement the merits of both the traditional graphic badge and the digital signature, accordingly, the electronic seal comes into existence. As one sort of data framework, the electronic seal comprises two sections: the graphics and the file. The former is the graphic information of the electronic seal, which can act as the identity verification; whereas the latter is to store relevant information of the seal and to certify whether the seal proper has been altered. The hash of the graphic information is utilized to fulfill this certifying process, however it cannot ensure the duplication of the information. Furthermore, the personal code of the electronic seal management system is a necessity to sign in the file. The electronic seal alone cannot verify users'identity and it must resort to digital certification. The seal having affiliated the file, one may sign the overall file with the personal code of the users'certification. The electronic seal management system is a platform which promulgates and administers the seal. Nowadays, quite a few such systems are closely related to CA and most of them integrate the functions of CA. Their promulgated electronic seal and digital certification are fairly coalescent. Yet currently there are a number of digital certification authorized CA institutions in our country. Hence this baffles the inter-activity of electronic seals and digital certifications issued by different CA institutions. The electronic seal management system detailed in the present paper attempts to separate the electronic seal and the digital certification. Varied certifications issued by different CA all may apply the seal in this system. This will surely be of convenience both to users and the administration of the seal. |
