Active power filter(APF) is a new method to realize harmonic elimination and VAR compensation using IGBT or MOSFET. It doesn't have the disadvantages of the traditional method to realize harmonic elimination and VAR compensation which uses the LC filters. With the development of power electronics components, computer and control technology , the method of using active power filter(APF) has been rapidly developed and widely used. The article discusses the economical topology of active power filter, and analyzes the system with MATLAB. Then active power filter device is designed which using the TMS320LF2407A and PM30CSJ060, and its max compensation current is 30 A. In this article, it is particularly introduced about the design of hardware and software. The experiment result is analyzed in the last chapter.
