The design problems of software have been always the hot issue interested among the industry and academe. It has essential meaning for prompting software producing in a industrial scale and standardized approach. To achieve this goal, a high quality design in software architecture must be achieved, and the core of such quality is the quality of structural rationality. Software Architecture patterns and design patterns as a so called pattern system has become a solution framework for common design problems of software., since these patterns are the ideas based on several years' experience accumulation and refinement. The paper takes software architecture based on pattern system as a framework for quality analysis. Firstly we conclude the evaluating standard system on software architecture quality. Then select representative software architecture patterns and design patterns and classify them on different quality characteristic . According to this evaluating standard system, we analyze these patterns on design problems they are applicable, structure and benefits to the quality of software architecture. A mobile robot case is used to analyze and compare architecture quality among four different patterns. At last we provide a set of steps guide how to select adaptive pattern and future research works.
