B-mode ultrasound diagnosis, one of the most important diagnosis means, is used widely in medical field. The technology is developing towards improving the resolving power and extending the diagnosis scope. In ultrasonic imaging system the application of digital processing can improve the image quality, and give facilities for image processing. In this paper a design of a virtual B scan system is proposed, in which the digital quadrature match filter is used to detect the envelope of ultrasound, and a simulated result is given. Based on this theory, a virtual ultrasonic imaging system is designed. A processing board based on USB2.0 is designed to stimulate the B scan transducer and processes acquired data. The digital quadrature match filter is carried out by HSP50214B, and the appliance software displays the image. The result of the experiment proves that the new methord is feasible.
