Firstly, this paper introduced actuality about the research and application of simulation techniques and case-based systems. In the development of Parachute Virtual Design and Simulation System (PVDSS), we combined expert system and simulation techniques for the first time and proposed a simulation mechanism based on expert system as well. Moreover, this paper introduced Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) technology into the simulation modeling of parachute design in a creative way. The CBR prototype system has got some achievements and been applied in the PVDSS. Based on the characteristics of the knowledge in parachute domain, an object-oriented case representation method was well designed. Furthermore, a strategy based on Generic Algorithm to learn feature weighs was brought forward. Then, an auxiliary Rule-Based Reasoning(RBR) component was advised to support CBR to deal with the situation that there were no similar cases retrieved. Finally, this paper made a primary research on case reusing and case revising as well. What's more, the system's capability of knowledge learning was mentioned, and a deletion policy based on case classifying and utility value was also proposed to solve CBR's "swamp" problems.
