Design And Research Of A Network Computer Cluster

Using of a single network computer application server can not satisfy the requirements of a big quantity of users accessing concurrently. The introducing of cluster and load balancing technology into network computer system is an ideal way to solve the above problem. The thesis design a network computer cluster based on existing network computer system and research key problems for this design. The overall research effort has been broken down to the following detailed works:Load balancing mechanism is the first class of essential problems for any cluster systems. As for the basic scheduling unit in network computers system, the session of remote application services has characteristic of long-term connecting and the content of which is hard to estimate. The thesis researches the mechanism of load evaluation and load state update suit for network computer. The method can not only consider load state integrally in a long time interval, but can also preferentially the load in recent time. Based on the above work, the thesis design a application service request scheduling algorithm that can not only integrally consider the load index and the computing power of the application server while scheduling, but can also avoid the system to be in a harmful state based on a distributed cooperation way.Effective management is important for the design of cluster system to improve the quality of services of application services. Aiming at the design goal of unified user management, availability and dynamic extensibility, the thesis design the mechanism of user management, fault management and resource management that suit for network computer cluster. User management mechanism makes it possible for users of any server in the cluster using remote applications services of any server in the cluster. Fault management mechanism makes it possible for the user to use application services continually while the server it is using fails. It can also help to find the failed server for maintenance people of the cluster system. Resource management mechanism can effectively manage the dynamic resource of the cluster including dynamic extensibility management of the server and application services.Finally, the thesis made performance analysis of the system and prospect the further research work.
